A lot of people love the film It's a Wonderful Life. Some people find it to be not so wonderful. Do you have a favorite holiday-themed movie? And if so, what is it?

Wacky Wednesday

Be afraid. Be very afraid. Just when you thought a food product could not get any more vile, they surprise me. This is the first product that showed me what my gag reflex was for:

MACARONI AND CHEESE - MACARONI & CHEESE DINNER
Ingredients: ENRICHED MACARONI PRODUCT (DURUM WHEAT FLOUR, WHEAT FLOUR, NIACIN, FERROUS SULFATE, THIAMIN MONONITRATE [VITAMIN B1], RIBOFLAVIN [VITAMIN B2], FOLIC ACID), CHEESE SAUCE MIX (WHEY, MILKFAT, MILK PROTEIN CONCENTRATE, SALT, CALCIUM CARBONATE, SODIUM TRIPOLYPHOSPHATE, CONTAINS LESS THAN 2% OF CITRC ACID, SODIUM PHOSPHATE, LACTIC ACID, MILK, YELLOW 5, YELLOW 6, ENZYMES, CHEESE CULTURE).
Size: 7.25 OZ

BUT

Just when you think it can’t get any worse, The powers that be a Kraft have come out with a new product! Yay!! After feeding the kids the above mentioned delicacy for lunch, you can feed the little munchkins as a midmorning snack, this:

MACARONI AND CHEESE - CRACKERS Ingredients: ENRICHED FLOUR (WHEAT FLOUR, NIACIN, REDUCED IRON, THIAMINE MONONITRATE {VITAMIN B1}, RIBOFLAVIN {VITAMIN B2}, FOLIC ACID), SOYBEAN OIL, CHEDDAR CHEESE (MADE FROM CULTURED MILK, SALT, AND ENZYMES), PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED COTTONSEED OIL, SALT, TAPIOCA DEXTRIN, LEAVENING (BAKING SODA AND/OR YEAST), NATURAL FLAVOR, ANNATTO EXTRACT (VEGETABLE COLOR), MALTED BARLEY FLOUR. CONTAINS: WHEAT, MILK.
Size: 8 oz

Doesn’t that just make you want to say, “YUM”???

Imagine someone asking what you had for lunch and answering, “Oh, the usual. Some propolyphosphate, some lactic acid, and a side of calcium carbonate.”

The Mac and cheese has 561 mg of sodium per 1 cup serving. 1.mg fiber. You are better off eating the box. No sodium, all fiber. The crackers have 310 mg sodium per 44 piece serving and 1 mg fiber. Again, eat the box.

Okay, so much for my product review.

Terry had an appointment today with the urologist. He assumed it would be a camera procedure but was tickled when he got there and found out that the doctor wasn’t going to do it. Instead, he is scheduling him next month for a different procedure. In this one, he will injecting dye and checking his kidneys, bladder, etc. I put in a call to his doctor to get all the particulars. I used to ask all the questions when I went with him. Now that I don’t go, I have to have him call me.

Terry doesn’t ask questions. He has no curiosity about anything. If the doctor says he is going to do something, Terry takes his word for it that it has to be done. He never questions. He has total faith. I, too, have total faith, but I need to know every detail. I need to know the whys the procedures from start to finish. Yes, I am like that.

They will schedule it next month, so I guess after the doctor calls, I will know more.

We (Providence) will be entering the second heat-wave (Concurrent above 90 degree temps) starting Friday. I just hope the humidity stays down. It has been great sleeping weather at night here on the coast. It has been getting down to 65-67 with really low humidity at night. With the A/C on low, it is perfect sleeping weather. I don’t mind the high temps with low moister in the air. I hope to get outside tomorrow. Maybe have lunch outside. That sounds nice.

Well that about does it for news around here. There isn’t much going on at the moment, so I will leave you with this. If you get past the corney jokes, the song is kind of cute. It doesn’t take much to amuse me these days.

Let’s see what theses have to offer:
I am stating my opinion here, I know, but it is an opinion shared by many. I know parents that would touch this with “YOUR “ fork, but they will feed it daily to their kids. When asked, they will swear to God almighty that their kids love, love, love it. Of course they do. What’s not to love?

I UPDATED!

http://cosmic.diaryland.com You can click on the link to get the whole entry with pictures.

I was watching a show yesterday and I can’t be bothered to look up to see which one it was, but it made me feel bad all over again. The were talking about Doris Day and the fact that she at 90 years old, she is pretty much a recluse now. Not that she doesn’t come out of the house, just that she stays out of the camera’s eye. I respect that. But anyway, they mentioned that she more or less left the Hollywood scene after the death of Rock Hudson in 1985. That’s what made me sad.
They showed a picture of Rock Hudson just months before his death. I remember that day well. I was only 32. I had been in love with him since 1971 when McMillan and Wife first aired.

>

I was 18. I loved Rock Hudson but I wanted to BE Susan St. James. I loved him, but I adored her.
When the news came out that He was gay my first reaction was shock. I am sure many people had the same reaction. Here was a gorgeous man that seemed to have affair after affair with the most beautiful women alive.
My next thought was, "OMG! That poor guy!! It must have been hell for him all those years. Imagine, if you will, not only having to pretend to be someone you aren’t on camera, but also 24/7 off camera? How miserable it must have been for him not to live the life he wanted instead of the life dictated by society and his adoring fans. Yes, of course, he didn’t have to be an actor, but it was his dream.
I did feel bad when his estate was sued by his long time companion Marc Christian for failing to disclose he had AIDS. I don’t believe he didn’t know. I didn’t think so then and I don’t now. And I don’t care what the news said. And that’s all I have to say about that! Except that I still remember him with good memories.

It is a sad day in the history of America.

Budweiser has been _fcksavedurl="http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080714/ap_on_bi_ge/anheuser_busch_inbev>" Sold

I don’t even like Bud, but they are right up there with baseball and Mom’s apple pie when I think of the good old USA. I feel sad.

Guess what I bought! I now own my very own

DVD Player! Yay!!
This is not so much a luxury item for me. I am supposed to keep my legs elevated some of the day. This will allow me to do that and to lay on either side and still watch my DVDs I can’t do that now. I can only watch tv on the loveseat which isn’t comfortable after a little while. But this, I can just pick up and move while lying in bed.
In the unfortunate event that either Terry or I have to be in the hospital it can go with us.
It was on sale at

W@lm@rt and only 7" screen so it wasn’t that bad.
This is a short entry day because I really needed to get the word out about Anheuser-Busch. I updated!

I have had a few people tell me they would read me easier if they could put me on their google reader. From now on, when I post at my regular place, I will copy it in here too. then I will show up on the reader. So there! The unfortunate part is that I am not going to try to do a formal page, so all you will get is my content. The other unfortunate part is that after all those years of trying to get my name changed from cosmicrayola to cosmis, I finally did, but I can't do it here. Go figure. You can always visit me at diaryland if you want. I will keep that addy as my subject line so you can visit.
